Longzhoudanxia basin region is located in Jingbian, Shanxi province, just 22 kilometers southeast of Longzhou village. This region is surrounded by tall mountains, lush greenery and flowing streams. The basin landform contains an area of more than 200,000 square kilometers and is referred to as the "Red Sandstone Landform." There are three canyons in this area: Longzhou Reservoir Canyon, Wave Canyon and Red Sand Canyon. However, local villagers divide them into five areas. This special landform changes its look at different times of year and under different climate conditions.
