Dehang Miao Village is located in west suburb of Jishou city, Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture, Hunan province, China. In Hmong, “dehang” means beautiful valley. The village lies in the central part of Dehang scenic spot. It is built around mountains and waterfalls, with wind-and-fire wall, Diaojiao House, and carved window. All the buildings are of typical Miao features, and they all reveal a sense of former adherents. In this sense, the village makes a strong contrast with the modern cities outside the mountains, thus attracts lots of tourists and researchers of ancient culture.[China.org.cn/Photo by Peng Biao]
