Shenyang Conservatory of Music's Beifang Symphony Orchestra staged a special concert at the Yunyang Pavilion, Shenshuiwan Park, in Shenyang city, capital of northern China's Liaoning province on the night of June 28.

Foreign diplomats, representatives of foreign and overseas agencies' local offices, representatives of foreign and overseas enterprises and participants of the 10th APEC Small and Medium Enterprises Technology Conference and Fair attended the event, which was hosted by the publicity department of the Party committee of Shenyang and the government of the city's Heping district, as part of the Fourth Hunhe River Symphony Festival.

The concert started with Beethoven's Egmont Overture with the site filled with local music enthusiasts. Brilliant works by other European masters including Antonín Leopold Dvořák, Georges Bizet, Richard Strauss, Edvard Grieg, Johann Strauss junior, Johannes Brahms and Arnold Schönberg, were included in the repertoire.

The musical event also presented Chinese composers' creations, including the orchestra music adapted from folk song Kan Yangge by Bao Yuankai, and Hongse Suixiang (Red Capriccio) created by Wu Jiaji.

The Beifang Symphony Orchestra is comprised of outstanding students and young teachers from the Shenyang Conservatory of Music and has collaborated with international musicians such as Chinese conductor Li Xincao and Peter Stark from the Royal College of Music London to offer exquisite musical performances.
