The Hongyuan Garden, in the Xixi National Wetland Park in western Hangzhou, boasts charming wetlands with beautiful waterways crisscrossing its 3.4 square kilometer expanse. Nurturing a rich biodiversity, it is also home to various cultural attractions including the ancestral temple of the Hong family, an influential clan living in the area through Song Dynasty (960-1279) to Qing Dynasty (1644-1911). Traditional Chinese folk-art performances are staged every weekend at night, set amidst the enchanting scenery and archaic buildings. [Photo/China.org.cn]
