Chaka Lake declared China's best venue for night star photography

Prayer flags near the Chaka Lake under a starry sky. "Chaka" means "salt lake" in Tibetan. Chaka Salt Lake is located near Chaka township in Wulan county in the east of the Qaidam Basin of Northwest China's Qinghai Province. By day, the azure sky and floating clouds as well as mountains in the distance are reflected in the lake, creating a mirror of the sky in China. A starry night-themed photography festival, organized by the China News Service and the China Media Culture Promotion Association as well as other organizations, took place in the Chaka Lake scenic area.
