Three Chinese citizens have been blacklisted by some tourist attractions in Beijing's Yanqing District for their "uncivilized behavior." It entailed scribbling on the city's landmark Badaling Great Wall, local authorities said on Wednesday.

The district's 12 tourist sites, including the Badaling and some other sections of the Great Wall, a wildlife park, a ski resort, and a wetland park, will block the three visitors guilty of behaviors that cause damage to the cultural relic from revisiting the site and other scenic spots.

On Sunday afternoon, the three individuals scribbled their names on the Great Wall sections with sharp tools. Early Monday morning, they were held accountable for their behavior and arrested and fined by the local police per the law.

The district's tourist attractions launched a joint punishment mechanism in April 2020 to raise public awareness of cultural site protection.
