2nd Int'l garden festival kicks off in Beijing

The second Beijing International Garden Festival kicked off yesterday at the Beijing Expo Park with the theme "Green Life, Beautiful Homeland" and will last till October 15.

More than 30 gardens, designed by Chinese and overseas horticultural artists, will first meet the tourists during the festival and more gardens will be built.

This year's festival will provide visitors immersive experiences by displaying 40,000 square meters of floral arts and potted plants as well as garden design contests whereby visitors could enjoy the beauty of nature and horticulture.

In addition to the garden festival, the Beijing Expo Park will hold the three-day Beijing Strawberry Music Carnival from May 2 to 4, a feast for music and nature lovers during the coming May Day holiday.

The Beijing Expo Park in northwestern Beijing's Yanqing district hosted the 2019 International Horticultural Expo and has so far held over 170 cultural events, attracting over 400,000 visitors.
