Agronomists from the Ningxia Academy of Agricultural Sciences have contributed a great deal to the construction of the Chinese Wolfberry Export Base in Zhongning County, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, and have helped promote its export volume, a spokesman for Zhongning Chinese Wolfberry Industry Office said.

The agricultural experts have accelerated the extension of a new Chinese wolfberry species and promoted the extermination of diseases and insect pests, said Ma Xinsheng, vice-director of the Zhongning Chinese Wolfberry Industry Office. An additional 666-hectare Chinese wolfberry export base will be built in Zhongning County later this year, Ma added.

The Ningxia Academy of Agricultural Sciences has built three core demonstration bases covering 366 hectares in Zhongning County so far, and the extermination rate of diseases and insect pests at the bases has reached 85 percent.
