Yinchuan has decided to develop Binhe New District as a leading tourism distribution center for self-driving in northwest China, reporters were told at a press conference held in Beijing. In addition, plans were outlined to accelerate the construction of a comprehensive 5A (the highest level) scenic spot under the support and direction of the China Tourism Automobile and Cruise Association (CTASA), in order to meet the target of becoming China’s self-drive capital within 5 years.
Ningxia is blessed with unique natural resources and distinctive cultural characteristics, making it uniquely suited to the development of both comprehensive tourism and self-drive tourism. Developing a self-drive base is the core part of Binhe New District’s comprehensive 5A (the highest level) scenic spot construction. A self-drive base and tourism center is scheduled to be established, offering supporting services, bases and entertainment for self-drivers. The Self-drive service system aims to cover 5 provinces and regions, including Ningxia, Shaanxi, Gansu, Qinghai and the Inner Mongolia autonomous region. During the May Day holiday, 100 vehicles, exclusively for self-drive usage, will be unveiled to initiate northeast China self-drive tourism market.
