On April 23, the Yinchuan-Taipei flight operated by China Eastern Airlines departed at 9:00 a.m. from Yinchuan and landed in Taipei at 1:00 p.m., marking the official launch of the Yinchuan-Taipei direct flight.
Ningxia is a wonderful “virgin land” to Taiwan tourists, particularly due to its Xixia dynasty culture and historic relics. Thanks to the direct flight, Ningxia is now no longer a far stretch to go for Taiwan tourists.
Taiwan’s Far Eastern Air Transport (FAT) will also operate scheduled services between Yinchuan and Taipei on May 12. A McDonnell Douglas MD-83 passenger plane will operate this newly-started flight, and will take off every Sunday -- once a week. The plane takes off from Taipei Taoyuan Airport at 12: 25 p.m. and arrives at Yinchuan Hedong Airport at 4:45 p.m. Departure time from Yinchuan is scheduled at 6:20 p.m. and landing in Taipei is set at 10:05 p.m.
It will be much easier to travel from Ningxia to Taipei without stopovers. A 77-year-old tourist says, “It has been my dream to visit Taiwan since I was young and now, thanks to the direct flight, my dream comes true. It is never too late for me to start.”
