Famous tourist attractions in Beijing 

With a few clicks, Beijingers will be able to get an electric ticket sent to their mobile phones that will let them visit one of the capital's top 32 tourist attractions during Spring Festival.

The city's tourism authority is planning to distribute 300,000 free e-tickets via its official website, www.visitbeijing.com.cn.

The big give-away will begin Feb 12.

Applicants will need to visit the website, fill in personal information, including their cell phone number and choose their three preferred tourist attractions.

Each cell phone number can only be registered once, and winners will be picked at random and announced once a day. Winners can expect to receive their e-ticket within 48 hours. Tickets must be used between Feb 14 and March 15.

"The e-tickets are our way of sharing the charm of Beijing, which is on the way to becoming a digital city E-tickets can reduce cost, act environmental-friendly and facilitate data-gathering and analysis," said Sun Weijia, deputy head of Beijing municipal tourism bureau.

Entry to more than 30 tourist attractions, including the Temple of Heaven, the Summer Palace and the Badaling Great Wall will be up for grabs. Tourists will only need to show a QR (Quick Response) code to get in, he said. Xing Qixin, a spokesman with the Temple of Heaven, said visitors can enjoy sacrifice-offering ceremonies each day between Feb 14 and Feb 18.
