Located in the southwest corner of Datong City, Shanxi Province, Huayan Temple is the largest and most perfectly preserved temple of the Liao (907-1125) and Jin (1115-1234) regimes. It was built in the 8th year of Qingning reign (1062) of Liao Regime and partially destroyed in the war in the 2nd year of Baoda reign of Liao Regime. It was, however, renovated in 1140 during the Jin Regime. [Xingying/bbs.fengniao.com]
