Located in Ruicheng County, Shanxi Province, the construction of the temple began in 1247 and was completed in 1358 during the Yuan Dynasty (1279-1368), while the famous Yongle Palace murals were painted during the ensuing Ming and Qing dynasties. Covering an area of 86,000 square meters, its main buildings are arranged along a north-south central axis and the whole construction features the unique architecture style of the Yuan Dynasty.
