Beijing

A Xiang is diagnosed with cancer the night before his wedding. He tries to commit suicide but fails. His fiancee has an affair with his best friend. And unexpectedly, he himself gets involved in a murder.

This is the storyline of the play Who Kills Him directed by Peng Damo, a graduate from the Beijing Film Academy. A Xiang is performed by Wei Xiang and Ma Li acts his fiancee.

The China National Peking Opera Company will present the popular repertoire Returning Phoenix to Its Nest (Feng Huan Chao), at the Mei Lanfang Grand Theater on Oct 3.

Most of the leading actresses and actors of the company will star in the play. Li Shengsu plays the pretty Xue'er and Zhang Wei, the handsome young man.

Shanghai

A true classic for lovers of classical music and ice ballet: the St. Petersburg State Ice Ballet, the world's pioneering ice ballet troupe, will soon be performing Nutcracker, set to Tchaikovsky's magnificent music. Among the cast are more than 40 of Russia's best ice ballet dancers.
