The European-style station is equipped with the country's largest underground railway waiting room which can accommodate 3,000 passengers at any one time.

The construction of the station, which features rainproof shelters without columns on platforms and a solar battery powered lightning system, well reflect the "Green Olympics" spirit.

The rebuilt station has tripled its size to 58,300 square metres and increased the number of platforms from five to ten. The daily passenger flow is estimated to reach an average of 39,000.

The railway station, an affiliated project of the Beijing Olympics, took one and a half years to reconstruct.
