A Qingdao delegation promotes the 2014 International Horticultural Exposition Qingdao in Mexico City, capital of Mexico, on April 16.

Wang Wei, chief of the delegation, introduced Qingdao, a coastal city of Shandong, from its history as a small fishing village to growing into one of the top 10 cities in China, at the promotion campaign.

The expo will run from April to October, 2014, and about 10 million people from both home and abroad are expected to visit the expo, said Wang.

Qingdao was approved to host the 2014 International Horticultural Exposition on Sept. 15, 2009, with a theme of 'From the Earth, for the Earth.'
