A delegation from the Qingdao Municipal Government signed an economic and strategic cooperation agreement with the City of Incheon on Aug. 1.
Zhang Xinqi, the mayor of Qingdao met with Song Young-gil, the mayor of Incheon and attended the signing ceremony. Qingdao and Incheon have been sister cities for 17 years.
The two parties exchanged views on enhancing regional cooperation and on how to seizing the opportunities as China, Japan and South Korea are in talks for the establishment of a free trade area.
During the trip, the delegation also visited corporations and held talks with South Korea’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
