Qingdao GDP up 9.6 percent in H1

The GDP of Qingdao City reached 335.5 billion yuan (US$ 52,644 billion) in the first half of this year, with a growth rate at 9.6 percent, officials said at a news conference held by the Qingdao Statistics Bureau.

“The overall economic situation in Qingdao remained stable,” said Wang Dongxiang, the deputy director of Qingdao Statistics Bureau.

In the first half of this year, the city’s primary industry added 15.401 billion yuan in value to GDP, a 3.3 percent year-on-year increase; secondary industry added 163.836 billion yuan in value, an increase of 11 percent; while tertiary industry added 156.291 billion yuan, an 8.8 percent gain, according to statistics released at the conference.
