A 330-meter-long super oil tanker named "Chang Jiang Zhi Yao," carrying 281,000 tons of crude oil, arrived in the port of Qingdao on October 9. Its 21.4-meter draft line is the deepest limit of all the vessels that have dropped anker in Qingdao so far.

"Previously, the 300,000-tonnage super oil tanker could not pass through the port of Qingdao fully loaded as the maximum draft line there is 20.5 meters," said Zhang Jin, the deputy director of the Vessel Traffic Management Center affiliated to Qingdao Maritime Safety Administration. The Qingdao Seaport Group completed construction of the deep-water ship channel with a depth of 22.5 meters this year and the waterway entered trial operation in April. Until now, there have been 40 super oil tankers entering and leaving the port of Qingdao through the channel, according to him.

Super oil tanker "Chang Jiang Zhi Yao", under the ownership of Nanjing Tanker Corporation, was built by Bohai Shipbuilding Heavy Industry Corporation and features advanced technical attributes.
