Qingdao was once again selected as one of the ten most attractive Chinese cities for foreign talent, as SAFEA revealed its evaluation results on Thursday.
SAFEA, short for the State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs, was responsible for the appraisal “Charming China in 2012: Most Attractive Chinese Cities for Foreign Talents.” Shanghai, Beijing, Shenzhen, Suzhou, Kunming, Hangzhou, Nanjing, Tianjin, Xiamen and Qingdao chalked up the victory.
According to the Qingdao Municipal Human Resources and Social Security Bureau, this assessment was aimed mainly at the policy environment, the government environment, the working environment and the living environment, all of which were further divided into 18 indexes, including contentment regarding educational environment.
The evaluation conducted by a group of renowned expats, including Chinese Friendship Award recipients, took place from September to December 2012. It appealed to more than 175,400 foreign participants who voted for the 50 on-list Chinese mainland cities -- also known as the only native Chinese Cities' List completely carried out by a foreign jury. The dazzling lineup of judges included Eugene Kaspersky, a Russian specialist in computer virology, and Ya-Qin Zhang, global senior vice president of Microsoft.
