Qingdao will initiate the construction project of the central business district (CBD) near the west coast. The new district will cover 30.15 square kilometers, allowing for the residence of 600 thousand people.

To support the CBD, an underground traffic system will be constructed to alleviate traffic pressure.

As earlier reports have stated, Franshion Properties of Sinochem Corporation will invest 30 billion in the construction of the district. The project includes office buildings, shopping malls, hotels, residential buildings and theme parks.
