Qingdao Int’l Beer Festival in the eyes of photographers

Over 320 photographers from 42 countries gathered at the Golden Sand Beach Beer City, Qingdao on Sunday to photograph the 27th Qingdao International Beer Festival taking place here.

Qingdao was the last stop of the photographers' tour around Shandong organized as part of the Fifth World Photography Conference in Jinan, capital of Shandong Province.

The dazzling light, intoxicating music, enthusiastic performances, fine-tasting beer and joyful tourists at the scene of the festival attracted a great deal of their attention.

“The atmosphere here is awesome. Everyone is having a great time. The light show impressed me most. It’s fabulous!” a photographer from Cyprus said whiling holding up his camera to shoot a photo.

Approved by the Ministry of Culture and the Shandong Provincial People’s Government, and jointly sponsored by the International Federation of Photographic Art (IFPA), the tourism development commission and cultural department of Shandong Provincial People’s Government and Shandong International Cultural Exchange Center, the Fifth World Photography Conference opened in Jinanon August 8.

Various activities have been planned for the conference, including international conferences, photography contest and exhibition, academic exchanges, and culture and tourism promotion.

Two of the conference's major sections, the Meeting on International Cooperation Among Photography Organizations of Belt and Road Countries, and the closing and award ceremony, will be held in the West Coast New Area of Qingdao.

The new area will be awarded two plaques during the ceremony designating it as a permanent liaison site and a photography base along the west coast of Qingdao for the federation of photography organizations of Belt and Road countries.

Photographers attending the conference will also shoot photos of the new area as they explore its natural environment, culture and economy.

Luxembourg-based IFPA is the only UNESCO-recognized international photography organization in the world. With over 300 national photography associations as its members, the organization comprises 1.5 million individual photographers, both professional and amateur.

The World Photography Conference was started in 2007 and the first four editions were held in Italy, Greece, Indonesia and Cuba.
