The 9th 2017 Qingdao International Sailing Week • Ocean Festival ended at the Olympic Sailing Center on the evening of August 20.

The 2017 Mazarin Cup Qingdao International Sailing Race, the finale of the ten-day event, came to a close that day as well.

The top three prizes of the Fareast 28R were awarded to Qingdao Dream Team, Qingdao University of Science and Technology Team and Turquoise Team of Japan. The top-3 titles of the open game went to Qingdao Sailing Association Team, Furistock Team and Sinan Sailing Club Team. Zhang Lebao, Li Jiaxin and Yu Mingyi claimed the top 3 titles in the super game.

The winning teams and individuals stepped onto the stage to claim award and opened the champagne symbolizing victory and joy at the closing ceremony.

The sailing week and ocean festival is an important carrier for Qingdao to continue building the City of Sailing”brand of “in the post-Olympic era.

Since its founding in 2009, the festival has been attracting enthusiastic sailing lovers from all over the world every year. After long-term unremitting development, it has become a traditional festival of “citywide participation and celebration with its international popularity and reputation improved.

The 2017 event was divided into six parts. The Festival introduced more than 30 colorful recreational activities including “seven games and two camps”which helped it further integrate withwith the sectors of tourism, culture and commerce. Competitors from both home home and abroad, citizens and tourists alike experienced passion and joy at the Olympic Sailing Center amidst its forest of masts and splendid sailing boats.

The last and best play of this year’s event was the International Top University Regatta and Training Camp, who took place in Qingdao for the first time.

In Fushan Bay gathered elite teams from Cambridge University, Oxford University, Imperial College, Berkeley University (in California), Melbourne University, Tsinghua University, Peking University, Fudan University and other domestic and international top universities.

They sailed through wind and waves and exchanged experiences and skills in the games.

During the 2017 Festival, Qingdao City further enhanced international exchanges and cooperation in the field of sailing by signed agreements on youth sailing exchanges with Kiel of German, Western Cape Sailing Association of South Africa, International Sailing School Association of Poland and Armed Forces Sailing Club of Singapore respectively.
