Qingdao Textile Museum opened officially on September 29. As China’s only industrial site museum, the museum is composed of nine themed sections and 19 scenes on a century-old industrial site.

When you visit the “History” section of the museum and revolve the wrap reel yourself, the slow motion of the reel will take you back to the old days. You can go over the brilliant history of Shengxifu (a hat brand), Qianxiangyi (a cloth brand), Ruifuxiang (a silk and satin brand) and Zhentai (a western suit brand), the four most famous textile brands in Qingdao back then.

Qingdao is one of the birthplaces of China’s modern textile industry, with an industry reputation on a par with Shanghai and Tianjin.

The 19 industrial scenes include a water tower built in 1934, a wet alarm valve produced in 1933 by STAR and zigzag-roofed factory buildings.

The museum plans to apply for a national 3A scenic area status this year and for a national 4A status in the two years after that.
