An Invitational Exhibition on Sculptures from Belt and Road Countries was held in Qingdao Sculpture Gallery recently.

The exhibition was co-sponsored by the Chinese Urban Sculpture Artists Association (CUSAA) and Qingdao Municipal People’s Government.

According to Wu Weishan, Curator of the National Art Museum of China and President of CUSAA, the over 150 works of sculpture on show were by over 130 sculptors from 22 countries.

Though the sculptors are different in cultural background, ethnicity and aesthetic psychology, they all spread the spirit of the Belt and Road Initiative through the uniquely charming art form of sculpture.

Last year in August, Qingdao held a group exhibition of sculptures with Belt and Road as its theme. Compared with this group exhibition, the new invitational exhibition, which have been in the making for one year, is more inclusive and profound and represents a new and inspiriting mode for sculpture creation, mutual learning of different civilizations and international exchanges.

The exhibition attracts both Chinese and foreign visitors. [Photo/Qingdao Today]
