Qingdao publishes draft plan for road network improvement

Qingdao government published a draft plan for improvement on road network in downtown area on Dec. 18, Qingdao Daily reported.

 

The draft plan shows that the local authority aims to improve road network connectivity by optimizing road arteries and increasing branch ways within a 1,408-square kilometer area in the city center.

 

The integration of road systems around the banks of Jiaozhou Bay is also taken into consideration. The construction of a network of 15 thoroughfares is highlighted in the plan, six ones running east to west, the rest running north to south.

 

The draft plan also includes the guidance for development of public transportation system, pedestrian roads and bicycle paths.
