Province awards foreign experts working in Qingdao

Shandong provincial government hosted an award ceremony for 2017 Qilu Friendship Award. Two of the 20 foreign experts receiving awards have been working in Qingdao.

 

Incepted in 1993, the award rewards foreign experts working in Shandong. 478 foreign experts have received the awards ever since, 40 of them having been working in Qingdao.

 

The 20 international experts receiving the awards in 2017 come from 13 countries, including a German expert working at the disease control center of Qingdao and an Australian expert Liu Jingquan working at Qingdao University.

 

Executive vice governor of Shandong, Li Qun spoke at the award ceremony emphasizing foreign experts’ contribution in the socioeconomic development in the province.

 

Li said that the deepening industrial upgrading taking place in the province offers great opportunities for foreign experts to make use of their talents. At the meantime Shandong will improve talent policies to attract foreign talents with better services and social environment.
