Mt.Wutai, literally translated as 'Five Platforms Mountain,' gets its name from the five mountains encircling Taihuai Town, and the top of these five mountains are as flat as platforms. The peak of Mt. Wutai reaches over 3,000 meters, so the climate is cold. Nature has created numerous unique wonders at Mt. Wutai, which have sparked it to join the World Heritage List on June 26, 2009. [Mt.Wutai News Center]
