Owners of idle land plots in China could have the parcels taken off them. Sources say China's Ministry of Land and Resources has delivered a blacklist of idle land to China's Banking Regulatory Commission.
The Commission will launch an overhaul, and 80 percent of the plots are likely to be taken back. The list gives in detail the location, project name, and expected completion date for development.
Beijing, Guangzhou, Hainan and Jiangsu hold a quarter of the country's unused land plots, 70 percent of which are for residential use. Beijing tops the list with 160 plots of idle land, Hainan province has 35, 54 are in Guangzhou city, and Jiangsu province has 48.
