The US National Institute of Health, or NIH, says it will use 10 million dollars from BP, to start a study on the potential health effects from the Gulf of Mexico oil spill.
The NIH has already allocated, another 10 million dollars to begin the study. It'll look at the health effects of oil and dispersant on clean-up workers, including respiratory, neuro-behavioral, carcinogenic, and immune conditions.
The study, will also cover, mental health and other problems related to the spill, such as job losses, family disruption and financial uncertainty.
