Namibian Prime Minister, Nahas Angula, has met with visiting Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi in the capital city of Windhoek.
Angula says Namibia is committed to promoting practical cooperation with China in sectors like trade, agriculture and infrastructure construction. He expects more Chinese enterprises to participate in the country’s social and economic construction to achieve sustainable development.
Yang Jiechi also met his Namibian counterpart Utoni Nujoma. Yang says China is willing to work with African nations, to prepare for the fifth ministerial meeting of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation in China later this year. The two ministers also attended a signing ceremony to activate a number of bilateral agreements.
Yang Jiechi said, "Through my visit to the 3 African nations, I feel their top priority is to ensure domestic stability, secure development and solidarity. These African nations have been seeking to advance all-round diplomatic relations with other countries. They are also very keen and sincere to upgrade practical and mutual-beneficial cooperation with China. We attach great importance to the cooperation with African nations. We believe in this new stage of development, China and African nations have a lot more to do to further upgrade their ties.
