As Spring Festival Eve comes ever closer, railways and airlines are trying their best to satisfy passenger demand. It has been the ninth day since the travel rush started. Different pictures are presented across China during the Spring Festival travel period.

In China's capital Beijing, about 670,000 passengers have started their journey home. Beijing railway says 60 temporary trains are being added to services.

Moving to south China's Haikou now, where foggy weather is hampering plans for family reunions. Shipping services across Qiongzhou Straits as well as Yuehai railways are suspended due to the bad weather conditions.

Lastly, in Guangzhou, 70,000 passengers were given free raincoats as they waited to board trains and long distance buses.
