Chinese, U.S. presidents meet on ties, major issues

Chinese President Hu Jintao and his US counterpart Barack Obama met in Seoul to discuss bilateral ties and regional issues of common concern.

Chinese President Hu Jintao and his U.S. counterpart Barack Obama met Monday in Seoul. 

The meeting, which came on the sidelines of the Seoul Nuclear Security Summit, was the two leaders’ first this year. In January last year, Hu paid a visit to the US, at which time the two countries agreed to a cooperative partnership based on mutual respect and benefit.

Last year, two-way trade between the two countries stood at 440-billion US dollars.
