A suspected killer wolf caught by police is to be given a DNA test after a man has claimed it was his pet dog, a husky. |
The white-coated animal was caught last Friday in a small town in Shandong, and identified by a local zoo as a 5-year-old female wolf. Police believe it was responsible for attacks on seven people, two of whom died. But a local man surnamed Wang claimed it is his pet dog named Lady after recognizing her in a news photo.
Local zoo keepers had said the animal cried like a wolf and possessed other wolf characteristics. On Monday, an animal expert determined that the animal is indeed a husky. Wang says he's been in contact with the zoo and police and hopes to get his lady back as soon as possible.
