Before China-Russia naval parade, another round of exercises took place. Thursday’s drill involved two operations. One focused on marine escorts, the other on anti-hijacking activities.

They simulated a group of Chinese merchant ships being hijacked by terrorists. A total of 13 warships, four helicopters and two teams of special forces participated in the drill. A live-fire exercise with anti-aircraft missiles and torpedoes was carried out later in the morning.
