CCTV's film crew has been diving into Qiandao Lake in East China's Zhejiang province to explore the ancient Lion City that was submerged half a century ago to build the Xin'an Jiang hydropower station.
CCTV cameraman has explored the wall beneath the water and tries to seek the city's second West Gate, and its inscription, "Wanli", the title of the Ming Emperor's reign.
On April 27, the team reached an archway, which is one of the largest structures near the north gate of the city. It’s completely preserved with sculptures and clear engravings. In the afternoon, the exploration team managed to find the north gate of the city. The whole project will last about five days.
