China's Commerce Minister, Chen Deming, has briefed the media on the economic track of the 4th China-US Strategic and Economic Dialogue.

Chen said, "Ministers from China and the US have conducted in-depth exchanges on the topic of expanding trade and investment opportunities. Both sides emphasized the mutually-beneficial nature of our economic relationship and the importance of cooperation.

We all expressed our commitment to seeking trade balances and investment opportunities. On the Chinese side, I made a 4-point keynote speech. First, we should take an open approach to de-politicize economic issues.

Second, we should work sincerely and cooperatively to create a sound trade and investment environment. And, we need to be creative in order to foster new bright spots in our cooperation. I also called on both sides to be inclusive in promoting multi-lateral and regional-level cooperation."
