Xi’an is renowned for its Terra Cotta warriors, and now at this exhibition you can see a softer version of the formidable army figures, in the form of cloth dolls, porcelain and even traditional style paper-cuttings.

Expo Visitor, said, "It’s very creative. And here you can see the Chinese characters for ’double luck’ on its forehead. It’s a new take on an ancient theme, it’s really good."

These arty terra cotta warriors are just the opening of the Changfeng exhibition, a digital company from Shaanxi Province. The dolls are a precursor to the company’s 100-episode animation, due to be released before the end of the year.

Lin Xi, Marketing Executive, Changfeng, Co., Ltd, said, "We wanted to turn the fierce-looking warriors into lovable characters. We think people will love the idea."

The expo has turned into a cultural festival. The city of Wuhai has brought 19 projects to the expo, hoping to promote the popular tourist attraction in the Inner Mongolian Autonomous Region.

Fan Xinxin, Deputy Director of Wuhai Bureau of Culture, said, "We’ve attended every expo since it started. We’ve signed many commissions for projects, and strengthened our cultural links with other regions."

The expo has attracted over 2,000 participants from home and abroad, the biggest number since the first expo was held in Kunming in 2005. And this year’s traditional and modern performances are enthralling visitors. The four-day event runs until next Monday.
