The Democratic People's Republic of Korea has warned the US and South Korea that it will respond, if the two countries go ahead with joint military drills.

The DPRK said the joint drills are the most aggressive military provocations threatening the security of the country. The Korean Central News Agency said the country will fight against the military pressure and deal with nuclear threats with its own nuclear deterrence capability.

Meanwhile, DPRK's top leader Kim Jong Un visited the country's troops over the past week. It is being seen as a warning against the joint drills by the US and South Korea.

The two allies will hold a joint exercise called Key Resolve and a field tactical drill. The land, sea and air manoeuvres will last from March 1st to April 30.
