According to survey results released on Monday, the number of books read per year by Chinese adults has essentially stayed the same, but newspapers and magazines are falling out of favor.

The survey polled over 40,000 adults in 29 provincial-level regions, and found that Chinese read a little less than 5 print books and over 2 digital ones in a year.

Meanwhile, they read nearly 71 newspapers and 6 magazines a year, down 6% and 1% year on year. The average reading time a day is around 13 minutes, while the time spent on the internet is 51 minutes.
