Steven LoBue was looking to make a push in the latest stop of the Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series. And the American would impress the crowd on the Azores Islands, by scoring the most points for a single dive.

Fellow American David Colturi also had a fairly nice dive in the Portuguese territory, which lies more than 13-hundred kilometers west of mainland Europe. Colturi finished the event in third, with 436.4 points.

Colombia's Orlando Duque had the second best performance of the day, putting pressure on overall leader Gary Hunt, who failed to make the final for the first time in his career.

And following a disappointing event in Norway earlier in the month, LoBue of USA was ready to make amends. On his way to victory, he collected 150 points for a single dive.

After a quintuple somersault with half a twist, LoBue went to the top of the podium, while Hunt, despite finishing 11th, still sits at the top position in the standings, with only two events remaining this year.
