A unique fitness event is challenging people to run for their lives through a Moscow park. The aim of the race is for runners to avoid being attacked by zombies along the five kilometre "Charmed Run" course.

It's a face that makes everyone run the other way. Joggers are dashing faster than usual in Moscow to avoid a zombie apocalypse.

The "Charmed Run" is designed to make running more interesting and challenging as it tries to mirror the feeling of a life and death event.

Each runner is equipped with three ribbons, which represents three lives. The aim of the walking dead is to snatch as many lives as possible.

The zombies need to collect as many of the prized ribbons as they can.

One of the organisers says she wants to get more people interested in running, and decided to add some thrills to the mix.

Over 500 runners have gathered at this year's run, more than the organisers had expected. The participants got to decide if they wanted to spend the day as a zombie or avoiding them.

He may not have to wait long, organisers are planning to host the event again next year.
