On the final day of his two-day state visit to Mongolia, Chinese President Xi Jinping delivered a speech to the Great Hural. In it, he said relations between the two sides had entered their best period in history.

Chinese President Xi Jinping welcomed Mongolia to "board China's train of development".

"Great things may be done by mass effort. China is willing to provide the opportunity and space for common development with neighboring countries, including Mongolia, so that they may benefit from China’s development," President Xi said.

President Xi made the remarks while delivering a speech at Mongolia's parliament, the Great Hural.

He also said that China and Mongolia are good neighbors, who should look out for and help each other. No matter how global conditions change, Xi urged China and Mongolia to firmly maintain the right direction in their bilateral ties, and think about each other from the standpoint of strategic partners.

The day before, President Xi met with his Mongolian counterpart Tsakhiagiin Elbegdorj. The two leaders held fruitful talks, that were followed by the signing of a joint declaration, upgrading bilateral ties to a comprehensive strategic partnership.

On Friday, Xi held talks with the Chairman of the State Great Hural of Mongolia, Zandaakhuu Enkhbold and welcomed him to visit China later this year. During the meeting, Xi Jinping pointed out that the joint efforts made by the two countries will push bilateral cooperation forward.

This is the first visit in 11 years by a Chinese head of state to Mongolia. And it's the second time Xi Jinping has made a foreign trip to a single country since he took office in March 2013.
