68-year-old action star Sylvester Stallone was in Macao on Friday to promote the latest installment of 'The Expendables' franchise. Not only that, Stallone says he hopes to film the next "Expendables" movie in Asia.

Joined by his co-star Arnold Schwarzenegger in Asia's gambling capital, the action star duo receives a hero's welcome on the red carpet. About 200 fans have waited for hours to get a glimpse of the two. Ronda Rousy, a UFC fighting champion and the only female lead in the cast, also turns up for the Macao premiere.

Stallone draws loud cheers from fans, and even talks about possibly filming the next sequel in Asia.

"As we go on, we will continue to add more stars, more personalities, more athletes, more individuals around the world, not just Americans. They'll be from all parts of the world. Hopefully, we'll be able to film in Asia very soon." said Sylvester Stallone, Actor, "The Expendables".

It's a strategy that worked for this year's summer blockbuster "Transformers 4", which became the highest grossing film of all time in China.

Stallone, who directed and wrote the first film, says he considered getting Hong Kong director John Woo to helm the third movie. Even though that didn't pan out, he now has his eyes on Asia's most wanted action star, Jackie Chan.

"We've always wanted to use Jackie Chan. The only reason we didn't…because there really wasn't a part big enough for him because we had so many actors. But in the next one, we are going to reduce the actors, and let's just say, expand the screen time of each star." said Sylvester Stallone, Actor, "The Expendables".

Yet Arnold Schwarzenegger begs to differ. The former governor of California says that one's nationality shouldn't come in to play when hiring directors or actors.

"I go by talent. I think Asia has some really talented directors, the Austrians have some talented directors, the Americans have them, the French have them. So I think you just have to find the appropriate director, not to do it for political reasons, or not because it can raise more money if you hire an revered Asian director or an Austrian director. I think if you just get the right person." said Arnold Schwarzenegger, Actor, "The Expendables".

"The Expendables" movies follow a team of mercenaries as they fight evil and save the world. Mel Gibson, Harrison Ford, Wesley Snipes and Kellan Lutz are the new additions to the cast of action heros.

The third installment is released on the Chinese mainland on September 1st, and in Hong Kong on September 4th.
