A theme park in Chongqing has come up with what appears to be an advertising gimmick. It's designated a special lane on a sidewalk for cell phone users. The 50-meter path in the Yangrenjie theme park separates pedestrians into two channels, one for cell phone users; the other for people not using their phones.

Cases of mobile phone users being injured while using their phones and ignoring their surroundings have been reported in the media. But that may not be the reason for this footpath.

In July the National Geographic created exactly the same thing in Washington D.C. as part of a behavioral experiment for TV show.
