Stuart Bingham, who knocked out home favourite and defending champion Ding Junhui in the semifinal, did not have to produce his best snooker, but was still too strong for an out-of-sorts Mark Allen to seal his second ranking event-title at the Shanghai Masters.
Bingham secured a 6-3 advantage during the morning session. Allen continued to struggle for any form for fluency, just as he did in the morning session. Bingham managed to grind out the next two frames to give himself a 9-3 advantage.
Allen got his hand on the table first in frame 13, but only made 16 and Bingham took the chance to secure his second ranking title with a break of 81...as he turned his 5-3 advantade into a 10-3 winning margin.
