Premier Li Keqiang visited the Shanghai Free Trade Zone on Thursday ahead of the facility's first anniversary of operations.

Li said during his visit that the free trade zone should provide more assistance for companies to develop their businesses while the government should improve management and working efficiency.

Li also said that all companies in the free trade zone -- both domestic and foreign -- should be treated equally.
An independent outside organization is evaluating the free trade zone's performance and also will study such issues as registration reform and how to implement the Shanghai Free Trade Zone model in the rest of China.
