2014 marks the 65th anniversary of the founding of new China, and the National Day holiday is just around the corner. Chinese communities around the world are joining the celebrations, including in the Canadian city of Toronto, where a "flashmob concert" has already been staged.

Over 300 people joined the flashmob, singing various classic Chinese songs. Thousands gathered to watch, with some people joining in the fun.

The Greater Toronto Area of Southern Ontario is one of Canada's most diverse areas, home to nearly half the country's ethnically Chinese population. It's the biggest Chinese community in the North American continent.
