The Ministry of Education has released a list of 15 undergraduate majors in universities with low employment rates in 2012 and 2013.
They included traditionally popular majors, such as marketing, broadcasting and hosting, and radio or TV director, along with emerging majors, such as biological science, tourism management and intellectual property. E-commerce, art design, and public affairs management also made the list.
In 2012, the ministry announced new policies on majors, demanding that universities gradually reduce recruitment for majors with low employment rates for two consecutive years.
