The third Wingsuit World Flying Contest is taking place at the Zhangjiajie mountainous sightseeing spot in Central China.

Eight of the 26 competitors from 14 countries are entering the final stage of the competition. They will compete with each other in newly-set routes that require them to jump from a 1,400 meter high mountain peak. Competitors then follow a curved route and fly into a valley, landing on pre-set road. The organizing committee has affirmed the safety of the routes.

Wingsuit flying is the sport of flying through the air using a special jumpsuit, called a wingsuit. It adds surface area to the human body to enable the wearer to "fly".
